Raspberry Pi 3B+ Released. Specs Inside

Raspberry Pi 3B+ Released!

This morning the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced the release of the new and improved Raspberry Pi 3B+, and upgraded version of the ubiquitous Raspbery Pi 3 Model B. This update comes just a few weeks after the Raspberry Pi's sixth birthday, and just eight months after the Foundation celebrated it's 14,000,000 unit sold (over 19,000,000 sold as of this publication). The updated design  packs in new features such as a reconfigured ARM Cortex A53 CPU that now runs at a respectable 1.4GHZ thanks to better cooling provided by an integrated heat spreader (IHS). Raspberry Pi Steams Ahead With 14 Million Units Sold Despite Competition

Raspberry Pi Surpasses 14-Million Units Manufactured

Earlier this week, Sony’s UK Technology Centre announced that it has manufactured more than 10 million Raspberry Pi SBC’s over the last five years, bumping the total number of Raspberry Pi’s out in the wild to 14-million units. This is a huge milestone for both the Raspberry Pi foundation (http://www.raspberrypi.org)  as well as Sony UK who was initially contracted by Element14  to manufacture 10,000 units per year back in 2012. Raspberry Pi has been such a success for Sony, that it has since ramped up its manufacturing capabilities to be able to produce more than 15,000 units per day, with a maximum peak capacity of 100,000 units per week. SSH Now Disabled By Default

I love the Internet of Things, so much so that I have built a career around writing about the so-called IoT for various websites, and for that I am thankful. Unfortunately, the IoT is not all fun and games as a lot of us would like to believe. As with everything that is connected to the internet, there are countless individuals in the world who dedicate their lives to finding a way to exploit the security flaws. Granted, not all of these individuals are nefarious in nature, and are just looking to find flaws so that they can be fixed, but their are a great number of individuals who are looking to utilize those internet connected things for malicious things... FCC Documents Reveal Raspberry Pi 3 Featuring Onboard WiFi and Bluetooth

A New Raspberry Pi With Bluetooth and WiFi Is On The Way

It’s been a year since the Raspberry Pi Foundation released the Raspberry Pi 2, and it looks like the company is preparing to launch the third version of its Model B microcomputer. On February 26, 2016, submitted paperwork to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for approval of a new model of the Raspberry Pi. In the image above you can see that the board’s silkscreen says “Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2”.  [node:read-more:link]

Get Started Designing Your Own Raspberry Pi Zero Hat's Today With These Eagle Footprint Files

Design Your Own Hat's For The New Raspberry Pi Zero

The internet has been abuzz about the new $5 Raspberry Pi Zero since it was announced last week, and if you are anything like I am, you have already started planning projects around this new incredibally cheap development board. It appears that I am not the only one either, as a company called Altitude Technology has taken the liberty of drawing up a set of SMD and Through Hole footprints in Eagle CAD for the new Zero. These footprints are blank except for the GPIO Pin placements and the mounting holes.  [node:read-more:link]

How to install Windows 10 IoT Core on to the Raspberry Pi 2

Installing Windows 10 on a Raspberry Pi 2

Microsoft first announced that Windows 10 would be coming to the Raspberry Pi and other popular development hardware platforms earlier this year. This caused a huge stir in the Maker community, and especially around Raspberry Pi circles. Likewise the Window’s developer world was quite happy to hear this news as well. As for myself, being a Raspberry Pi user since its release, and a budding windows developer, I was quite excited to hear this as well. I even worked up a 3D printable Windows 10 case for the Raspberry Pi 2, and wrote a short article on it.  [node:read-more:link]

The Raspberry Pi Model A+ has arrived!

Raspberry Pi Model A+ has been released!

The new Raspberry Pi A+ is smaller, faster, and packs a punch

This morning the Raspberry Pi Foundation released its update to the Model A revision of the Raspberry Pi. The new Raspberry Pi Model A+ features the same BCM2835 processor, and 256MB of RAM that the previous Model A utilized, but the Model A+ differs in size, power consumption, and clutter. The Model A+ features a 40-pin GPIO connectort now which breaks out additional GPIO pins as well as conforms to the new HAT standard for better module board compatibility. [node:read-more:link]
