Remixed Center Finder for Woodturning – Pencil-Friendly Version
One of my hobbies is woodturning, and one tool that every woodturner needs is a good center finder. The Center Finder (Square/Round) by fellow YouTube maker Marius Hornberger is one of the best I’ve ever used.
Unfortunately, the original model’s center slot isn't very accommodating for regular wooden pencils—especially dull ones. It works great with mechanical pencils, but when I’m marking rough-sawn bowl blanks, mechanical pencil lead just doesn’t hold up.
I saw several users request a chamfered centerline to help guide standard pencils more easily. After stepping on and breaking my original print, I decided to remix the design and make that improvement myself.

What’s New in This Remix
- Added a 45-degree chamfer along the centerline for better pencil alignment
- Added a 10mm hole at the end for wall storage or pegboard hanging
The rest of the model is identical to Marius’ original excellent design. I want to thank him for creating such a useful tool. If you're unfamiliar with his work, check out his YouTube channel!
